To call Alexandra Oswald’s job path multifaceted is an understatement. From working in labor law and intellectual property rights, she moved on to be the lawyer for Independent TV Producers Union OTP.
She is currently a District Attorney in Amsterdam, where “Youth and Weapons” is part of her portfolio. Recently, she also has become a press and media spokesperson for the DA’s office. Alexandra is part of a think-tank where the DA, local government and the police discuss and work on crime prevention policies. Being a mom of three young kids, youth crime prevention is a cause near to her heart.
Alexandra: When I came to New York for the first time, I constantly felt I was walking in a Woody Allen movie. I wonder whether I will experience the Job Swap like an episode of "Law & Oder".

If you talk about someone with passion for her work, Assistant District Attorney Amy Litwin fits the bill. After getting her BA in Women's Studies she started working as a legal advocate, assisting women - victims of domestic violence - in filing for restraining orders.
But Amy realized she could do more. She moved to New York, where she got her law degree. As an Assistant DA she is responsible for all aspects of felony domestic violence prosecutions. Amy is very interested in seeing the different legal processes in Amsterdam. On weekends Amy loves to go to the gym, listens to music, and reads, sometimes even a good crime novel!
Amy: "I know that in the Netherlands, when strictly enforcing the law doesn't work, they will try to look at the underlying problem, rather than sticking to the "rules". I would really like to find out more about that approach."
The Job Swap is an initiative of the Henry Hudson 400 Foundation and BKB, in cooperation with the NY400. The Wildcard contest is organized together with newspapers Het Parool (Amsterdam) and AM New York (New York).
